Brook Farm is a supported living scheme for people suffering from mental health problems and consists of 2 self contained flats that are attached to the main house where they will be supported towards their individual recovery.
We also take people for respite.
Brook Farm is situated in the beautiful Forest of Dean and set in 4 acres of land with a number of animals living their including a pony, hens and pigs. There are raised vegetable beds and we have an emphasis on using the products from this in the cooking. People are encouraged to get involved with the work on the farm and this can be from building shelters for animals to stone walling.
We do try to get a good mix of people in this house who will get on and no one will be placed without the agreement of the other people living there. On renting one of these flats you will be asked to sign a standard licence agreement this will give you statutory rights as a tenant.
In addition you will have an identified number of support hours that may cover some of the following:
- Support skills to build on your present independence skills
- Emotional support
- Support to day time activities including employment
- Prompting with medication
- Budgeting/benefits
- Accessing local resources e.g. Art Space, Swimming, Sports, College.
- 24/7 support may be available
- Support you to move to more independent accommodation
